To Whom It May Concern:
I was in one of my school's computer labs today, and finished with my work early. So what do I do? The internet is rather slow, and pretty much blocks all websites, so that was out. Paint gets old in one minute, for me at least. So I went to Word! (If you don't know what that is... [wow!]... it's a place where you can type and stuff like that.) At Word, I went into the Letter Wizard. A thing most people don't know about me is I love to write letters! I love mail, but almost never receive it.
But that isn't the point! The point is I have so much fun with the Letter Wizard. You fill in the information and it sets up your letter for you, and then shows you where to write and you end up with an awesome looking letter. Typed--of course--but I don't have anything against written letters.
So being the true nerd I am, I wrote a letter to Tom Riddle. I pretended Voldemort had wanted me to become a death eater, and that I was refusing the offer. It was of course somewhat silly, involving health care, tea, and Harry Potter already being my BFF... duh.
You might be thinking this information is not relevant, but it is! That is where I got the idea to open this blog post with "to whom it may concern." I thought it was a neat, but formal, way to start a letter, but I didn't use it for my letter to Voldemort because that was specifically for one person. I think "to whom it may concern" sounds much more plural.
And now onto something I mentioned before!
I was talking about reading 100 new books in a year. And while that is exciting, I also thought another fun idea would be to reread 100 books, or something similar to that. See, I love new books! The feeling when you are reading a book and don't want to put it down is one of the best feelings in the world to me! But another thing I love to do is reread books. I've mentioned I reread the HP series all the time, but I pretty much reread favorite series more often then the normal person. My friends will be like, "You are reading that again?" So that's an option for something fun to do!
Currently I am rereading the Series of Unfortunate Events. A guy that sits next to me in one of my classes saw that I was rereading the book today, and he was just, "I read that book in fourth grade, and you are reading it now?" Seriously. This guy needs to be informed of many things. One of them being, just because a book isn't your "level" doesn't mean you can't learn and enjoy from it! This series is written by a very talented author, and I love his style of writing. And by the way, there are so many vocabulary words in these books! And he directly tells you what they mean, so you don't even have to guess with context clues. Another thing that he needs to realize is I read the first Harry Potter book in second grade, and I reread that all the time! So he was pretty much insulting me. But oh well.
Best Regards! (I am closing with this because I also found it in the Letter Wizard. I also used it for my letter to Voldemort, but I slipped in a "no" before the "best." Cue the evil laughter.)
Rita. (I finally mention my "name" in my blog post. I realized I never say the name I use for this blog. Odd. If you haven't read my about me, then you probably think Rita is my real name. It is actually just on of my favorite names and I use it for privacy reasons! And I just like it.)
