Double snow day!
That's right, I don't have school today, Tuesday, or tomorrow, Wednesday. It's nice to know I will only have at least 3 days of school this week. I know I am going to have to make it up when summer comes around, but I can complain about that then. Right now, all I am thinking about is not having to take the test I had today, and have 2 extra days to put off homework till the last moment.
Not that this snow day hasn't been productive. No way! I've given in and decided to make a Twitter. I don't know if this is a good or bad thing, but already I enjoy it a lot. I am following 20 people so far, I've been getting a list of people I know have twitters for awhile now. Youtube is great and all, but all of these people tweet more often then they make videos. So it's just another way to stalk them. Hurrah!
But other than the people to follow, I like the idea of Twitter. Quick short tweets, it's so simple and speedy. I think twitter just fits me. It's like status updates of facebook, and since no one really talks to me much on that site, that works for me!
I've already made discoveries from Twitter also!! Through owlssayhoot, I found Sarah Snitch. She's on youtube, and I think she is dating Alexander Carpendar. I don't know though. Anyways, she does these Disney Princess fights and picks a winner, and they're really funny. One of Rapunzel's PRO's was being loyal. So she listed that as hufflepuff, which really did make my day.
Hayleyghoover has this second twitter channel, and she just tweeted throughout the entire first HSM. An example:
"She used to wear blue every day and he used to wear red. Now they're broken up and they switched colors. SYMBOLISM!!!!"
Any other news of my snow day, besides twittering?
Listening to Skyway Flyer. It's a good band. Kind of reminds me of ALLCAPS in a way, but with Jason Munday instead of Luke, and minus the Kristiana.
Question: Do you have a twitter?
My twitter: hpnerdtastic
Did I link everything?: Yes.
Numbers Ending in 0 and 5

210. Isn't annoying that these are a day late?
The keyword was "annoying!" Buckle up and read my complaints. Prepare yourself to get out of your computer seat and bang your fist. Because, really, these things are super annoying!
- I am in the lovely experience of high school at the moment. No, I won't tell you what year, but I will give you that general range. (I am sure you've guessed by now, anyways. The casual reference of school, and I probably don't have the sophisticated writing skills of a college student. [I also had to use spell check to spell "sophisticated," so that's an example.] Just estimating here.) Anyways! I have a lovely locker. One that I cannot seem to fit all of my books in. But that isn't the problem when I can't get to my locker in the morning. Or in the middle of the 5 minutes I need to get from one end of the school to the other. Yes, I have that annoying situation. In the morning the guy who owns the locker next to me generally has a circle of friends around his locker. Which results in them being in front of my locker. I don't want to be the rude shove-y person, but it's the morning, and really, I am normally always late in the mornings anyways. I need to get to my locker people! During classes, there are two people on either side of my trying to get into their lockers, and so there isn't anything anyone can really do about that. But after school, the guy on the other side has a girl friend. And she, or he, are normally always in front of my locker. So if they are somehow reading this, PLEASE get out of my way. I don't want to miss my ride! (Which is normally a bus by the way. Charming.)
- The second thing that annoys me is immaturity. Don't look at me like that! You are probably thinking, "what does she know, she's probably immature too!" And I can be. I will occasionally giggle when it comes to the topic of sex. (See, I was mature and typed the word without even cracking a smile. Serious blogger, I am.) But what I am talking about is the immature jokes people make. For instance, in Chorus today, underneath a composers name was the word ASCAP. Which is probably some organization, or something, I am not quite sure. Seeing is on sight and if having to say it out loud, I would say "A-S-C-A-P," spelling it out. But then someone pronounced it "az-cap." Which then led to the laughter about it sounding like the unpleasant for for your but or someone annoying, and a cap. Because laughing for a minute about having a CAP on your AS is so funny.
- And lastly, (wonderful transition, I've had it with me since third grade I believe) myself. Right. As much as all the other things people do annoy me, at the end of the day I am the one that annoys myself the most. (Well no. But close.) All the little things I do, ect, it can all be annoying. The fact that I annoy other people annoys me. I am lazy, and that is just really annoying. But how to I change that when I am lazy? But that kind of attitude annoys me! It's like I don't listen to myself-which is something that annoys me! I sound crazy, so I think I will stop now. Rita is annoying to herself, that about sums #3 up.
That's it for today. I am planning on making Song Wednesday!
Question: Do you annoy yourself? Or am I just alone in the self-annoying existence?

205. Are we human? Or are we bloggers?
Look who showed up for another "song" Wednesday! If you haven't guessed by the title of the song, today's song is "Human," by The Killers. Regardless of their band name, I think their music is quite harmless, and enjoyable to listen to. (If you want other suggestions by them: Mr. Brightside, Somebody Told Me, and When You Were Young.)
I can't say that the rest of the blog will be about that song though. Sorry, if this is disappointing to you.
This blog is actually about an assignment I received today. (No, I promise it isn't boring.) In class we read "Seven Ages of Man." It's by a rather good poet you might now, ole' Shakespeare, and from the play As You Like It. The monologue (as Wikipedia described it [I was checking to make sure this information is correct]) describes life in seven parts. Infancy, childhood, the lover, the soldier, the justice, old age, and mental dementia and death; or, infant, schoolboy, lover, soldier, justice, pantaloon, and second childhood.
It was a quite interesting read. I won't copy and paste it here, but if you are curious, I will link it.
So then my teacher (a lovely lady!) preceded to show us a comic that was based off this poem. I would quite like to show you it, but alas, I could not find it on the internet. The comic had seven boxes, each with a different drink the man would have drunk in that part of his life. For example, the schoolboy drank apple juice, the soldier had ale, and the second childhood section had prune juice.
Our assignment was to do something similar to this comic. The Seven ____ of Man/Woman. So we could draw, or find pictures on the internet for this task. I have decided on a couple different ideas. Either books, magazines, or music songs for mine. The Seven Magazines of Woman was my first idea. Not quite sure what I would use for the infant though. The Lover spot could be Cosmopolitan though, and then the "Soldier" could be Home and Gardening, ect. There are many options of magazines. Also, books, would have many more topics. Music songs might be difficult or easy, I haven't decided. Either way, it's nice to use my brain in a creative way for my homework.
Question: How would you fill in the blank to my assignment? And what would you put for the different ages?
:-),
Rita.

200. <-Wow, what an impressive number to the left of this title!
Remember how in a recent blog post, I talked about songs that make you happy? Well I was just thinking today, about what to blog about, and what came to mind was something sort of connected to that idea. Except this time, I am blogging about songs that you can relate to.
Relating to, as in, connecting. (Wow, that cleared things up.) You don't have to have every detail in agreement with the lyrics. I mean, bad breakups pretty much have the same feelings involved. Hurt, betrayal, all that fun stuff. (Not.)
A song I can relate to is I Hate Mario Kart Wii by Alex Day. I'll post the lyrics below. This is a really good song, I think. Alex Day (known as Nerimon on youtube) is really cool! I think his best friend is a bit better known, Charlie, aka Charlieissocoollike. But this is a song by Alex, and again, one that I relate to.
So the similarities to myself?
- I always choose Yoshi to race with!
- Stalling always really annoys to me.
- I love Mario Kart Wii, but things like being in 12th place and stalling remind me how much it can really annoy me.
- I am often in 12th place, for things like falling off, stalling, getting stuck against walls (it happens.), and just pure unluck. So I am always hoping for the bullet. You don't even have to steer! And then you manage to get back to 1st place. From 12th.
- I think everybody can relate to blue shells. There is NOTHING you can do about them!!
- When people catch up with you when you are in 1st place it's really worrying. You spend the whole race worrying about people passing you, and now it's happening!! It's totally nerve wracking.
- Being in 1st place all you ever get are bananas, or red boxes, or sometimes the occasional green shell. The shell is completely pointless, if you are far ahead, by the way. When you are in last place you get way better stuff. If you are in 3rd or something, at least you get red shells pretty often.
- Waluigi kind of annoys me. Donkey Kong annoys me even more though. And King Boo always seems really angry to me. (I don't mind Bowser. I play as him in the battles to seem intimidating.)
So that is the song I "relate" to. I actually had quite a lot in common with it, I think. (Minus the F bomb. I wouldn't curse at Waluigi. At least not out loud... even then it would be "darn you." Really mean, I am.) You probably weren't expecting a song about Mario Kart, but that's called a surprise! And maybe now you might believe me when I call myself a nerd. (But calling myself a nerd would be complimenting myself. Aha-see what I did there? Slipped in how I think calling someone a nerd isn't a bad thing!)
Hm, do I have any other songs I relate to? I am sure there are many out there. But one from my past was "Mr. Brightside" by the Killers. (Awesome band, also.) I listened to that song a lot when I liked a guy that liked another girl. Of course the song is about a guy that likes another girl, but it was the same thing really. When I was feeling down about him not liking me, I would listen to someone else being down about not being liked. Depressing = depressing. Why I wouldn't listen to a song to cheer me up, I don't know.
The question for you is, what's a song you can/have related to?

I feel so confident right nowAs my friends all ask me how they throw an item or utilize the driftMy character of choice is YoshiHe's good off-road but mostly I play him cos he's cute, I'll admit
The race starts … and I stalled!I stalled the car againI held A down a bit too earlyAnd all my mates are laughing as they drive right past meAnd at this point I remember why I hate Mario Kart Wii
And now I'm stuck in 12th placeI'm gonna lose this race; trailing in Donkey Kong's tyre tracksSo I get a power-upI don't expect too much, but oh my god, Bullet Bill – now I'm back!In first place in no timeAnd my mates can't see why Nintendo would make a game that's so unfairThey're feeling pretty angry, but I'm just princess peachyI'm winning so I don't really care
But someone gets a blue shell! And I crashThe kart flips over againWhy don't they put a wall there!?Nothing I can do but watch it roll into the seaAnd at this point I remember why I hate Mario Kart Wii
I'm still in the leadBut they're catching up to meI'll get a power-up and I'll be fineAnother banana skinUpside-down boxes wearing thinI think I had more fun when I was behindThis is the only game I've playedWhere winning just feels lameAnd losing is where all the fun takes placeAnd there are no red shells for meAll I have is apathy for this never-ending, three-lap funless race
The race ends – AND I'M SECOND!I lost the race againHow did he get Invincibility!?Fucking Waluigi stole my victoryAnd at this point I remember why I hate Mario Kart Wii
Everybody sing!
So the similarities to myself?

195. It's Tuesday!
Welcome, readers, to my first week back at school after Winter Break. So you should actually be quite impressed that I am managing to write a blog post. While I slightly want to be taking a nap right now, (the early mornings and homework really do wear me down) instead I am writing this blog!
So go on, ask me what it's going to be about.
Hint one! List.
That's right, the list is back! Maybe it's a motif in my writing. Probably.
But I am sorry to say, this list might not be the most interesting for you guys. I am simply going to list what I got for Christmas! Before I continue, I would like to say that in no way am I bragging or anything like that. I am just really grateful to the people that got be presents, and I love them, and I want to exclaim about them to the world!
1. 2 Harry Potter UK books. While I won't tell you where I live, I can tell you that I don't live in the UK. So this version of the HP books is really neat. I think it seems more original, and I actually like the cover art better. I haven't read them yet, so I don't know if there is any huge difference inside them, but the outside is different enough for me to make them even cooler. The two books I got were the first and fourth. The first, because well, it's the first, and the fourth because it just might be my favorite.
2. 2 Harry Potter t-shirts. They were from the WB shop, so does that make them legit or something? (Is it just me, or is "legit" becoming a popular word? It might just be my school, but I don't know if I like it. Writing it made me realize that. "Legit..." I am going to have to think about using that word. Maybe I will. But I probably won't.) One says "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's (had to look at my shirt to see how to spell that) Stone. The picture underneath has Harry and Hagrid facing Hogwarts, so you can also see the castle, lake, and the Hogwarts Express. It's really beautiful, in my opinion. The other one is also neat, it's white with the Daily Prophet on the front. When I opened it I began to read it right away. You can read the captions, but some of the articles are too small to read. The picture on it is the Death Mark, and sometimes when I look at it I expect it to start moving like it would in the books.
3. Gift cards and money. These are pretty much the same thing. Some cards where to book stores, and others were for clothing and one was to Target. Originally I didn't know what I was going to do with that one, but in the end I used it to pay for part of Mario Kart for the DS. I've been wanting it for awhile, and so I finally acted and bought it! Another awesome gift card was itunes. You can never own too much music! Especially if you obsess.
4. Season 1 of The Nanny. It's an older sitcom, plays on Nick at Nite (Night? Not sure if Nick either spells it correctly or incorrectly...) and I think it's really funny. I won't try and explain it, I don't think it would work out that well, but I really think the jokes are funny, and all that good stuff you like in shows.
5. Clothing, not of the Harry Potter sort. A grey sweater, which is nice and soft, and floral shirt came from my grandma. They are both very nice. My aunt got my a black Colombia fleece. Now it's nice, and comfortable, but at the same time, I wonder. Should I enjoy this item? I now own a fleece that many other girls own. And it's a rather expensive brand, also? Is this fleece worth the money, and going with the popular item that popular girls wear at my school? In the end I decided to wear it. It's comfy, and I am not going to turn down a gift that I like from my aunt. What's the point? Making a point? Nah.
6. Harry Potter Clue. Enough said. Also, a Harry Potter puzzle. I'll need to do these with people some day. The latter with my family, probably, since it was technically a family gift.
7. Hot chocolate mixes. And makeup. All which I am not sure when I will use. The hot chocolate, sure, but not so sure about the makeup. My other grandma (so this grandma is not the same one that got me that sweater) works with Mary Kay though, and so I get a new supply every year to join the old supply. The makeup remover does come in handy though, for when I am in musicals and have to take off all the makeup you wear for on stage. So I was happy to see a big bottle of that.
8. Candy! Always good. Always.
9. A blow dryer, and PE clothes. None of which I asked for, but my mom knew I needed them, so she just gave them to me. They are both very useful though!
10. The movie Eclipse. Again, not exactly something I asked for, but something I like. I might not be obsessed with the series, but I should still own most of the important things in it-books, movies, ect, in honor of how I used to be obsessed. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone but me. (Just today I got the Bree Tanner book from my library. I don't really plan on enjoying it, but I figured if my library had it I might as well read it.)
So my question is, what did you get for Christmas?
So go on, ask me what it's going to be about.

190. Happy songs!
There are certain songs out there. Of course, you are thinking. There are angry songs, sad songs, love songs, mean songs, love songs, break up songs, and some more love songs. The songs I want to talk about, though, are songs that make you happy. So either their mood is happy, or maybe you just connect them to a happy moment for some reason?
I am rather unprepared for this discussion. You know, I only have myself to go off of. I could have done a little survey or something, but I just thought of this somewhat late at night while listening to a song that makes me happy! So here goes.
The song, at least currently, that makes me happy is Season of Love by Shiny Toy Guns. Now, you might not know this song. I found it through the end of a Gossip Girl episode. (To be specific, the ending of the Season 2 Finale.) This is kind of a big deal, actually.
I am sure there are fans of the band that are angry at all us Gossip Girl watches saying "oh this song is so cool," while we don't even listen to the band. I understand where they are coming from, but I don't have enough itunes money or time of my Christmas day time to check out the rest of the band. Sorry.
As mentioned before, I found this song while watching Gossip Girl. I am going to share some Gossip Girl information now, so skip if you'd like. Basically all of season 2, I've been wanting Chuck and Blair to (finally) date. Everyone knows they are the best couple of GG! So they've come close to it in the season, but it's never actually happened.
You can bet that during the finale it finally happened. It was the perfect scene, in my opinion at least. Chuck apologized for not saying "I love you" back to Blair, and he'd even gone around Europe to get her presents! It was sweet. And then he said he loved her! And smiled! (Gosh, I love a Chuck Bass smile!) And then they started kissing and he kept saying "I love you" while they were kissing and it was just a great Chuck and Blair moment.
(Another one of my favorite Chuck and Blair moments is when Chuck is standing near the edge of the roof and she gets him to come down and they are hugging and he apologizes, because he didn't care, but he knew that she cared. Of course Jack Bass was there-he is so horrible-so that was a slight damper on the scene. Now back to the topic!)
So during that scene, there is the song, Season of Love playing. And then as the scene ended it got louder. Basically there are parts of the songs where the chorus(?) is the band singing "love, love, love." It's really nice sounding song, in my opinion at least. And the other lyrics are really creative, and so the song in all is really nice.
Whenever I think or hear of the song, it makes me happy. It's a bit sad, but seeing Chuck and Blair together finally makes me happy. Like, two people finally worked out their problems and faced the fact that they are in love and did something about it. And they are both obviously so happy. It makes me just think of love. The song and the scene.
Remember when I used to ask questions at the end of every post? (That wasn't one.) Well, I've got one to ask this time! Maybe I haven't been asking because I didn't have anything to ask, or was worried no one would answer back. So if you are reading this, be brave and reply! Besides, it would mean a lot to me. Unless it's mean...!
Q: What is a song that makes you feel happy?
I am rather unprepared for this discussion. You know, I only have myself to go off of. I could have done a little survey or something, but I just thought of this somewhat late at night while listening to a song that makes me happy! So here goes.

185. Carol of the Blogs
Why, yes, hello. It's me, (not) again. I would apologize for not writing new posts... but then I would seem guilty. Which I am! But I don't want to waste a whole post saying how sorry I am (which I am) and how I should have made more time (which I should have.) So here goes the excuse and then I am done: finals. Done!
So today is officially my winter break! No more school until January 10th, and yes, it is nice. Already I am not exactly sure what I will be doing, but I will think of something. I will have all that awesome family stuff around Christmas, but the few days before going back to school should be blissfully boring. By that time I might be bored, however. We'll see how it goes.
Remember how I wanted to do something fun? Like, a goal for myself in the New Year? I am thinking I will read 100 books. Since rereading is fun, I will also allow myself to reread books. There is no specific number, I do want this to be fun after all. I think the neatest part will be recording all the books I read. I'll be able to go back and either say, "Oh wow, that was the first time I read that book? I love that series now!" Or, "I can't believe I reread Harry Potter 5 times that year..."
This is a short post because I don't know what else to write. I'm really sorry! Oops, I said I wasn't going to be like that in this blog. Anyways. The title comes from Carol of the Bells, a personal favorite Christmas song. Anyone else love Christmas time? I do!
Bye for now then. :-)
